A vintage 9ct yellow gold gypsy solitaire ring, maker G&TJ, claw set with an oval mixed-cut garnet at the centre. Garnets are the birthstone for January and named after the Latin word 'seed' due to the resemblance to pomegranate seeds. Garnets are thought to bring the wearer health, good fortune and a sense of calmness. This ring is thought to be dated circa 1980s.
